CST Law Unpaid Debt

Options
This company (instructed by Debt Recovery Plus Ltd and as an agent of SR Security) have sent me a letter about unpaid debt from a parking "fine'. DRP were sending me letters before and had given up over 2 months ago but this new company has I'm assuming taken over that debt so they can make some money.

How can I go about getting rid of this debt. And yes before you ask I have just ignored all the previous letters etc because I was uneducated about this topic.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks a lot. :j

What happened in your other case, is this another PCN?

What does the CST Law letter say, how is it headed, and does it include reply forms and give you 14 days to reply, or 30 days?

Does it ask for payment to DRP?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I had given up on my other case and just paid it off for ease of mind. This is a different PCN from a parking company that is known for not taking people to court as I know a lot of people who just ignore letters from this car park.

Letter is headed UNPAID DEBT - REMINDER NOTICE. Talk about beavis Vs parking eye etc that they have 6 years to recover debt and so they want me to pay £140 by the 28th of November to avoid court action. Letter was issued 14th so it's only 14 days. Payment is demanded to DRP.

It is only a debt if a judge says so. In the meantime it is an invoice from an ex-clamper for the alleged harm you have inflicted on them. Pay them not one penny unless a judge so orders it.

    In the meantime read this

That £40 is almost certainly unlawful.

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Does anyone know what should I do? Wait for an LBC or send them a letter now?

    It's a debt collectors letter.

Read post #4 of the NEWBIES thread about how to deal with debt collectors letters.

Letter is headed UNPAID DEBT - REMINDER NOTICE.
Ignore it then. Who cares who it's from, it's just a threatogram like the others.

    That doesn't matter.

Have you ever had anything from SR Security Services Limited?
