Kimplus8 MFW I will own my own home diary

As the title says, I am saving every last penny, the hardest part for me is having a no spend month, I always crack and buy something unnecessary and then I am furious at myself afterwards. The last 2 months I have managed a No Spend month and I have managed to sell a bunch of stuff too to buy the kids the new school shoes they need in august and to pay for our summer funds.
I have opened a LISA which has £1000 and that was before April so I intend to use the full £4000 allowance this year.
My goal for April 2019/20 is to save £6,000.

after a stressful couple of days sorting tax credits and juggling finances I am finally sorted for this month so should be right on track for saving. I am going to meal plan every meal, have timed snack slots for the kids, like at school so they don't devour my entire kitchen every weekend and holiday and plan everything but have a buffer for unexpected spends until I have got the budget precise.

Today I am stressed. I am so focused on saving it it all I can currently think about which is a bit crazy. Every time go to spend money I feel like that money would be so better suited to my savings and I can't spend it. Its like once I made the decision to buy a home thats all I can think about and focus on.
Im just looking at all the free and cheap activities that are on in the school holidays and juggling it all around. I have my set budget for the summer and I am determined to not go over it!

    Good luck.

I like the idea of set snack times for kids. I find mine eat less if they have to eat it from a plate at a table!

Try your local library, churches & Sainsburys kids active clubs for free or cheap things to do over the summer.

Set snack times is working good for us so far, they have that at school and don’t starve so I have found now we eat at set times at homes we go through far less fruit and snack foods.
