Welcome, you sound extreme determined! I shall follow with interest.
Regarding the snacks, what do your kids have? Would something made with oats help fill them up? There was a recent 'eat well for less' episode where they were creating snacks for 3 strapping teenage lads - a look at this might give some ideas?
Good luck!0 -

tomorrow is moving day. We are moving into a rental for the next 18 months while I save like a mad woman for a deposit. We have been in temporary housing now for over a year and I decided enough is enough. We are miserable and I found out that even if we leave temporary housing and go into private rented accommodation, we will still be eligible for most of the government help to buy schemes or shared ownership schemes. Plus the rent happens to be £50 a month cheaper!!
I am excited and nervous all at the same time but Looking forward to a fresh start in a much nicer home.
Please have us in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow.

The house move went fabulously. We are in and settled and eagerly anticipating the delivery of some flat pack in which to put our stuff. (Monday). I am thoroughly shattered but have kept to my furnishings budget and now I'm just having some down time after all the stress of it all.
hopefully will have new SOA up shortly so I can re-jiggle my budget.Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -
Ive been so shattered the last few weeks. had family visiting and been super busy so haven't really updated much :-\
Im still saving like a crazy woman but only saved half my usual amount this month and did ALL, thats right ALL of my Christmas shopping. now all I have to do is wrap it and we are ready.
I already had a plan as to what I was getting the kids so have shopped the sales throughout the year and bought the last of it this week.
now the only thing I need to purchase is the food which I will do as part of our weekly shopping budget.
two of the kids are on a school residential in feb so that will take a big chunk out of my budget for nov.
im also going to sell the car as we seldom use it for anything other than shopping and frankly I can make do without it and not get so much in one go.
uni is going really well and I'm settling in nicely into my online lectures and tutorials.
hope everyone is having a feb week

Best of luck saving for a deposit, I have much admiration for you managing to save with so many children, it must take a lot of determination as well as organisation :TMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

had a pretty stressful week, I have uni assignments due in and juggling that with all the kids off school has been tough.
however we managed the two weeks off without spending any monies out of the budget!!!
I looked up all of the free events in our town and we did most of them. the kids did a pumpkin trail, yoga session, a craft and painting day, we went to the museum, halloween dress up and party and then we just did walks and some of the nature trails in our area.
I am stunned that more people don't attend these things, we only saw 1 other family at the nature trail when we were there, apparently not many attend the pumpkin trail either.
Its such a shame as the kids had a fantastic time and it didn't cost us anything to do it except a bit of petrol to get there.
today I bought a Christmas tree on offer as we don't actually have one and borrowed one last year, I've done all my Christmas shopping and just need to wrap it all and that me sorted. I'm so glad I've been super organised and on budget this year. it really does make a huge difference to the stress levels.
I can't wait till its December now and I can get the tree up and start baking Christmas cookies and do craft with the kids.
I bought a tonne of Christmas craft in the sales for 10p-50p only last year and its been in a box since then waiting t come out for this year.
Im still o track for my savings, just awaiting a reply fro virgin media for all the incorrect stuff noted on my credit file and I should then be right on track for the mortgage and for buying our first home.
hope everyone is having a happy 1st of November. xxJust a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0
