Consequences of DVLA suspension of UKPC

This story in the Independent is from Friday

What are the implications of a suspension - can these car companies just save all the DVLA requests up until their usual DVLA services are resumed .... or are all bets off until they sort their **** out?

No they can't access the database while suspended and can't backtrack.

    UKPC WINDSCREEN TICKETS

You do not respond (save it anyway). By responding or
appealing you will give your address to them.
As they are banned they cannot get details from the DVLA
so are unable to do anything

    UKPC ANPR

As this results in a NTK, they have obtained data from
the DVLA .... BUT BEING BANNED means they are unable
to obtain data and you will never know about it

Within the banned period they cannot do anything that
    resulted within the banned period
  • expect plenty of UKPC staff PLACING tickets on cars , many with invites to contact tham (as they did last time)

Already covered on the first thread about this:

  • Hi everyone,

I came back to my car to find a Parking Charge on my windscreen.

Can someone please confirm if I'm ok to ignore it or has their suspension been lifted?

    The suspension has been lifted.

Please go to post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread for good guidance on how to proceed.

NEWBIES thread still mentions the ban as I want to update the post but was planning & thinking about what to put - so people with PCNs from May (up to 24th) don't go appealing!

Anyone with a May PCN from UKPC should sit tight unless it was in the final week of May.

Anyone with a June PCN should do the usual day 26 online appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have been following this thread with interest as I received a PCN at 11.52 am Friday 25th May 2018 issued by UKPC. This is the date I understand DVLA lifted the ban on UKPC from obtaining keeper's details. I have read elsewhere that UKPC cannot seek details from DVLA of keepers where alleged parking infringements occurred during the ban, but I am not too sure. Also was my alleged infringement within the ban period or not? I would appreciate any assistance on these points. I am mindful of Coupon-mad's post above which would infer my alleged infringement was outside the ban. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

You'll only get a definitive answer from the DVLA as your PCN seems to fall right on the cusp.

I'd just ask the basic question 'On what date and at what precise time did the 2018 ban on UKPC accessing keeper data end?' rather than link it specifically to your PCN.
