Parking Charge Notice - Tesco

Hi all,

I (the keeper) have received a letter from Tesco and Highview Parking dated 20 December, and also a separate letter from Highview Parking dated 21 December. Both are parking charge notices (PCN) for times the driver has breached the maximum stay time on 7 November and 8 November. The notices ask the keeper to pay a £70 fee or £42 fee if paid within 14 days.

Any help/advice on the keeper's next steps would be appreciated.

Should the keeper visit the store (where they actually do their shopping), and explain the situation to the duty manager? And at the same time, agree to pay some charge? Or appeal it/each PCN saying that signs are not posted clearly and font size is small?

Many thanks, and Merry Christmas!

Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread.

Go there now to learn about the game you are now caught up in and how to deal with this

You will see throughout here you should never reveal who was driving.

You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving

If you have inadvertently used your real name as part of your forum name then ask MSE to change it to something completely anonymous

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use your posts against you

I seem to recall that in some Tesco car parks, the PPC was
placing notices on cars with a Tesco letterhead

Also, the muppets who are employed by Tesco,
THE STAFF..... are given cameras by the PPC and they
forward pictures on to the PPC

This could also mean that the picture taker could be getting
commission which is not allowed by the BPA

You need to do some investigation as to who actually
took the pictures and the best place to start is the CEO
    and ask leading questions

Write to Dave Lewis and see what reply you get, then
    come back here

Always remember that you have already been told
that you are a valued customer

  • If the letters are turning up now for parking events at the start of November then they are outside the 14 days that the PPC have to write to the keeper in order to hold them liable.

As the driver has been parking repeatedly, there is a bigger chance that the PPC will pursue this to court if they can (£££ for multiple "offences").

agreed, so stay as KEEPER and appeal the pcn or pcn`s sent by HIGHVIEW, as keeper , using the blue text template "as is"

    edit post #1 asap too

what happened on the day happened to THE DRIVER

the paperwork has been posted to THE KEEPER

they failed POFA2012, so the keeper is not liable

    Who? Highview? :rotfl:

Over half a million tickets issued and never ever been to a county court to sue a motorist.

@OP - treat each parking charge (if more appear) as a separate issue and appeal each one in its own right using the blue text template appeal from the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1. Highview will almost always cancel the charge immediately once they realise they are going to have to deal with the forum.

One final point - the forum doesn’t condone fly-parking against the wishes of the landowner, please stop it. We are not an anarchist movement.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Haha, ''Highview'', LOL.

    Merry Christmas all!

  • I always see people complaining about getting tickets for parking. If you follow the rules, DON'T park in Disabled or Family spaces without blue badge or kids then you won't be fined. Stop moaning and park right.

It's not just that ...... the main abuse comes from
parking companies hence there is a new private members
bill going through which I sugggest you watch

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.
