Parking Charge Notice - Tesco

I always see people complaining about getting tickets for parking. If you follow the rules, DON'T park in Disabled or Family spaces without blue badge or kids then you won't be fined. Stop moaning and park right.
If the parking companies followed the rules there would only be a fraction of parking charge notices issued.
They are not fines.
Blue badges don't apply on private land.
Family spaces are just graffiti and have no meaning in law. What have either of these got to do with this thread anyway? The OP never mentioned them.
You should take a look at what MPs have said about the unregulated private parking industry before you make badly educated assumptions.
These are some of the comments made by the MPs in Parliament concerning the unregulated parking industry (Feb 2018):

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.I married my cousin. Utter rubbish - Please educate yourself on the cowboy world of private parking!
Also, go and remind yourself about your agreement to not hijack threads.0 -

I don't think futbar has hijacked this thread. It's a forum and anyone is entitled to post their view subject to maintaining civility.
I do agree that overstaying is the subject of the thread and BB and child spaces are not, but the point of parking right is a perfectly valid viewpoint.0 -

Are you for real?
My daughter didn't park in a disabled space, or a Parent and Child space, she didn't overstay the allowed time, she didn't park outside of the lines of a bay, she paid the required fee, and still got an invoice dressed up like an official fine. These companies are scammers trying to defraud people out of their hard-earned cash by using illegal, intimidatory and aggressive tactics.
In my mind the PPCs have lost all claim to the moral high ground even when somebody really transgresses because of their general poor behaviour.
I'll continue to give advice to people on how these scammers can be beaten regardless of the rights or wrongs of their case.0 -
Hi,
I've been issued with a parking charge notice by Highview Parking for an overstay of 32 minutes in a Tesco carpark in Scotland. I've have read the advice about not responding to Highview but instead to write to Tesco.
I've been searching for an email/letter template to ensure I use appropriate wording to make my point to Tesco. So far I haven't found one, can somebody please direct me to one or advise what I should say?
Kind Regards,0 -
Actually I would send the usual NEWBIES thread template appeal to Highview (even in Scotland) as long as you DO NOT tick the box saying 'I was the driver'.
IMHO, Highview will likely cancel when they see the template appeal from a keeper.
If not, then phone up Tesco Dundee and have a rant - no template!! They can see from your Clubcard records if you are a regular patron and can cancel it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
