Is help to buy actually worth it? 14th Mar 17 at 2:05 PM
I was looking at a help to buy mortgage and after consulting with a mortgage adviser I have realised it's actually going to cost me more than it would without the help to buy.

Does anyone have any experience of help to buy scheme actually working?

Sorry, I should rephrase it as - do you only pay the interest on a mortgage for the first five years or so?

It’s repayment but still I thought the first few years were paying the interest only?

All payments are a mix of capital and interest.

I made a 100k profit over six years and paid 17k back to HTB. At that time I just could not have done it on my own. It gave me a leg up and made a lovely home really affordable.
