How to escape from Timeshare

Options
I have an UK based timeshare and wish to give it up.
The maintenance fees have risen too much to make value for money.
I have sought help from TATOC and they said all I can do is sell it. Even at £zero cost there are very few takers, so the chances are slim. Timeshare sellers charge from £150 to advertise online and expect to sell for a price even though I want to hand it over for free.
I have spoken to the resort but they will not accept it back.
What can I do? HELP!!!!!

I heard on Radio Four's "you and yours" that in some cases the contract was passed onto the children at death and they became responsible for paying the maintenance fees.

Would it look too desperate if you say, included the first years maintenance fees already paid up with it? then embellish a bit saying must dispose of quick.. emigrating soon... or something like that?
European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.
