Income support investigation

Hello everyone,

Thank you for kindly clicking on this I would be very grateful for any advice received.

I got a letter from Jobcentre plus yesterday which reads;

We need to see you in order to discuss the benefit we are currently paying you. We need to ensure your payments are correct and it is essential that you attend this interview to discuss the matter.
We would like you to bring:
Current passport
driving licence
Utility bill
Tenancy agreement
3 months worth of bank statement

This is all fine, but does this mean I am under investigation ? Goodness knows why or how but anyhow has something flagged up with them?

My mother puts £15 a week into my account to pay for my daughters tutor as she is dyslexic and I can't afford to pay for it on my own, her dad pays the other half which I did tell DWP about but didn't tell them about my mum as it only has been happening over the last 2 months.

If anyone could shed any light onto this for me I would be grateful as I am a worrier and my appointment isn't until the middle of June so I have all that time to worry about it! The wording of the letter is of no comfort!

Thank you everyone x

Its a work focused interview everyone has to have one.
If it was fraud it would say customer compliance

To be on the safe side I would suggest that your mum writes a letter saying that she gives you £15 a week for your daughters tuition. Even better if she show a bank transfer or similar.

It is always best if any gifts of money are given directly to you. Anything different showing in a bank account usually warrants an investigation as they may believe that you are working.

This is definately NOT a work focused interview.
It is an investigation. You will not be arrested so don't worry. But they will record the meeting on camera.
It will almost certainly be due to the £15 a week being put into your account. You have not committed benefit fraud so don't panic. Just prove it came from your mother

To be honest we need to see all of the letter to know exactly what its' about. The OP seems to have only quoted part of it.

Why scare the op, everybody on benefits has to have a work focused interview. It would say compliance on it if that was not the case.
We had exactly the same letter last year. It was a friendly chat no more.

In 15 years they have never asked me for all that ID unless they were accusing me of something. And my work focused interview letters clearly state "Work Focused Interview".
The OP post suggests it's not that

That's odd considering these days there is only 1 template they can use for a work focused interview letter

I can upload my latest one if you like. No mention of ID at all

I had a letter like that when the chap came to sign me as appointee for my sons DLA and even though it was in my own home I still had to show both our passports. It never said it was about appointee - just similar to above - but I knew having read these boards it was to check I could be appointee. The man was ever so nice.

In addition to the letter from mum - get proof from the tutor to confirm the payments. Can mum not pay directly ?
