nPower - Opening Meter Reading Issue

So I recently switched gas to nPower sicne they were (unfortunately) the cheapest by a fair way. They've now asked me to submit opening meter readings but I can't - the online form keeps asking me for both gas and electricity readings even though they aren't supplying my electricity.

Anyone else had this issue? Can't believe their brand new online system is still problematic.

On some tariffs companies will not supply gas only - they insist you take electricity as well. Could this be the case with NPower?

I just put in zeros for gas and was accepted. I only have them for electric.

nPower have a lot of system problems. This doesn't surprise me. If necessary, you'll have to phone them. Thankfully, it doesn't usually take too long to get through to a person.

All companies will accept electric only customers - as some people don't have gas.

Certainly some companies will not(did not) accept gas only customers - no idea if that applies to NPower.
  • Good luck with that. I switched to Npower last year in April, by the time i switched again in December they had still not resolved my opening gas reading, they also billed me £13k odd for the year, upped my direct debit to over £1,100 per month I am still waiting for the £288 credit owed to me.

I have today left n power and only because of price. I only have the gas with them now.

I found N Power only as good as the advisor who answered the phone.
Some were brilliant and others made it up as they went along.

I could never understand their electric energy graph. According to their graph I was estimated to use £2000 worth of electric a year when in fact I use no more then about £750.

Fortunatley I paid by var qty dd so did not cause me an issue.
