M&S Credit card site problems

Options
Is anyone aware of problems with the M&S Credit card site please? I have been trying to log in each day since Friday (maybe it is just down and nobody to recover it over the holiday weekend) - I can wait as I have a minimum payment direct debit set up but I like to make an extra payment when my next paycheque goes in and so far have not been able to login.

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar problems or if my PC has cached a failure page or something.

Many thanks

I've just tried to login and it works perfectly.

Maybe try clearing your cookies and your cache?

Why not push the payment from your current account using online banking?

You'll find the details on the back of your statement.

Probably save yourself 2 days interest as well.

Thanks for the suggestion - not an issue with interest - never pay it on CCs. Just use the 0% on purchases as a form of free HP to spread the costs or help with cash flow.

I've now cleared all the history and cookies and logged in and paid OK.

    Thanks for the help everyone

    It seems to be intermittent.

I tried last night using my normal bookmark and the page was blank, still the same.

I also went in via their normal website and firstly got the message that others got above. I then tried again and it worked fine.

Not sure if related, but I tried to make an online purchase tonight on my M&S card but it was declined (I have plenty of credit still available). When I contacted them they said they'd had a security breach and had cancelled the card and was re-issuing a new one and said I should destroy the old card. I've scouted around the net the only news I can find is the american visa/mastercard hacking breach. Has anyone else experienced similiar?

    p.s. I'm a newbie, hi all *waves*

Kezzasatiger - Hi there  Mine has been OK since I cleared the history and cookies but I guessed there had been some form of bombardment attack (loads of auto-generated traffic to stall the web-site and in the worst cases, to penetrate their security). Your information from the call centre suggests something more serious - normally the layers of access possible in a web site should protect personal data in the deepest layers. If they are cancelling cards it implies personal security was breached. That is a worry. I will have a dig around and see if there is any update.
    Thanks
