android superpad 3

anyone have any experience of it?

I would like a tablet, it would be handy, and tbh I have no idea what else I want for my birthday, and this is within my mums price range.

Could i download a spreadsheet program onto it?
is it fairly fast? (im aware that the speed will decline over time)
how responsive is the screen?

I am buying the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 when I can afford it (and hopefully it won't be stopped from being sold). I haven't tried using a pad yet but I am sure Google Docs works on it (don't quote me on that!) though.

It's back on sale now, a judge temporarily lifted the ban, but the entry level model is (I think) £399.00. A friend already has one and he uses Google Docs on it.

Hmmm... had a quick google and it looks like it's one of those low-spec Chinese tablets: resistive screen, Infortmic (sorry, who?) CPU... made to look like an iPad. Personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. You might want to try and find something else you'd like for your birthday or maybe see if you can get other people to chip in (or add some of your own money) to get a better tablet.

it is a lower spec one, hence the low price. Im not wanting something all singing and dancing, games dont really interest me (!!!!!! is angry birds? never heard of it before!), I just want wifi and some sort of spreadsheet

Well I think you should be able to use Google docs on it (not 100% sure though) otherwise there's always some apps in the android market that will run a spreadsheet, go and have a look there and see what's available :) You might not want all singing all dancing fair enough, but if the thing turns out to be sluggish and freezes on you all the time it's not going to be a very good experience, have you found any online reviews for it?

i have decided to go with the advent vega instead, it doesnt come with market installed but there is a download avaliable for it

there is one in a shop near me for less than £150, budget is £100 so i'll be putting £50 towards it.

Reviews on youtube etc seem fast (with rom upgrade, which i can do), runs android 2.2, supports flash, supposed long battery life between charges and its multi-touch rather than resistive touch :j

The main issue i had with the superpad was that there are tonnes of fakes, and finding an official one in the uk is a minefield!

Definitely easier to go with one of the local products now that the prices have dropped.
