Flights Man to Bangkok using cheaptickets.co.uk

Hi there, we've left our holiday until the last minute, again

We went to Thailand 2 years ago and would love to return. I've been using skyscanner and kayak to look at flights which are throwing up prices of £900 for the dates we can travel. I've found several other sites such cheaptickets.co.uk, globehunter.co.uk, travelup.co.uk which are giving quotes which £300/400 cheaper. This seems too be good to be true. Has anyone ever used these sites?

Thanks :o

An actual quote to buy, or a quote to give them a call ?
A number of sites advertise good prices to get you to call them, but when they process your dates the cost jumps and you feel obliged to go ahead and book with them.

Most of them are to call. I called travelup.co.uk asking for flight times as none were advertised. I was put through to someone else and ended up getting cut off _pale_

Travelup quote the following as their address

    511, Oxford Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG30 1HF

Why not put that in to Google maps and have a look at their 'office' on street view.

Or why don't you quote your dates, and see if anyone here can find you anything? Airlines have struggled and there have been lots of last minute deals to Thailand.

However, should you be flying back Aug 27-Sep 3 (ish) you'll struggle to get seats / good prices, so need to be lucky and / or rich.

We are very restricted to dates due to our vocations.

We can fly Sunday 31st July or Monday 1st August but need to be back in the UK on Sunday 14th August as other half is working on Monday 15th.

Good idea Bob. I am so skeptical!

    Thanks :)

511, Oxford Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG30 1HF Also seems to be the address of robinflights.co.uk
    who say on their web-site

"robinflights.co.uk is a ensures the flights shown are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. ATOL is a financial protection scheme for UK tour operators"

Not quite sure what that is supposed to mean but I can't find Robinflights on the ATOL list at on the CAA web-site! http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=490&pagetype=65&appid=2

I had a quick look at net flights which is a real agent with a real ATOL and they have nothing under a £1000 each for 1st-14th August, that is with Qatar via Doha, there is also Swiss via Zurich but after that the fares go into the stratosphere. No agent without an ATOL themselves, which means they have to buy from another agent, is going to have fares half the price, check out ebookers, call Trailfinders since they don't do on line bookings, but I fear you have left it far far too late to get any sort of deal now, sorry

There are definitely still affordable options:

Indeed! That price on AF via Paris seems a fantastic price!

Are those dates not completely different to the OP's requirements or did I miss something?

I have always found that Kayaks fares rarely exist

This period is low season in most of Thailand - so hotels are cheaper but flights are more expensive - its give and take - indirect flights from Manchester is your best option - or travel from another UK airport - either way its the worst time to go in terms of flight prices
