Waitrose: new website is PANTS, RUBBISH!

Takes forever to load and items take even longer to show up in the trolley. Crashed more than once and I finally gave up.

Wonder how much business they have lost tonight thanks to their much bandied "new website".

Oh, and I had to register my payment details all over again and choose a new password.

Why can't they test this to make sure and have contingency plans in place that spring into action for failures like this.

PATHETIC!

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

I booked a delivery and started on the new website last night. I stuck with it for 30 minutes and then I gave up. It is dreadful. I cancelled everything

The new website is painfully slow and does not work properly on google's Chrome browser. It has just crashed again and despite using 2 different internet connections, I can not get the site to load.
My delivery slot expires in 5 minutes and I can’t complete my order. Hope this gets sorted out soon!

    Hi

    I found it awful too.

I normally start my shopping by looking through all the previous items I had purchased, of which I had 19 pages grouped by 'shelves'

I now have 52 pages of random items! It's so frustrating!!

Also before you could look at all the offers under each heading eg diary.
Now you have to break it down into which offer you want to look at! EG BOGOF or 1/3off.

I'll give it a couple of weeks and if it doesn't improve I may have to head to Ocado.

I love how lots of items no longer show their weight, just the price per hundred grams. Check out the essential coleslaw!

And if you edit your order, and opt to move the items you've already ordered into your trolley it duplicates them. I almost ended up with 3 £50 bottles of champagne in there!

  • Just had the pleasure of using the super dooper new waitrose site and jolly impressed I'm not too. After 15 minutes gave up and sent a nice sarcastic e-mail to the customer services. Just what was wrong with the old way of picking items off your favourites list and adding the multiple items to your trolley in one keystroke? As opposed to select, add to trolley, select, add to trolley!!! Also took over 20 seconds per item to add to the trolley...life's way too short for that malarkey!!

Plus point is that I never had the pleasure of piddling about with my payment options / cards...there is a god after all!!!
  • I dont use them as i only shop there - I hate having to be in waiting for something - but new websites can always be a bit buggy and what have as they normally get problems with loading everything onto their new servers. Also they may have just been swamped with people wanting to try them out and this in turn slowed down servers - remember the police fiasco??Though im guessing waitrose wont have millions at once logging on.. If its saying its down then this may have been whats happened..

They really shouldve got people to test it out for a long time first but in haste they get a bad rep from it.
