Nomi Mobile Vile Customer Service

Is anyone experiencing the same?
I was given one of their SIMs at work so we can call our Asia office on the go. The call quality etc. was OK and rate was cheap, but they kept changing the rate, which I was not happy about.

Then they started sending SMS to my mobile saying they are stopping the service in 3 weeks, then 2 weeks, and xx days, counting down.

The SMS urged me to call/txt Nomi so they will pot my old number and get me free SIM, which I did 3 weeks ago, but I still haven't received anything!

I still receive SMS saying the service is stopping today!!

Heaven only knows how many time I have called them, requested the new SIM via their web site etc. etc.

I thought Nomi was bigger organization and can come up with better service?

i still have 15GBP in my old SIM and don't know what to do!

Anyone going through the same?

Nope, that's a new one on me but they don't sound very professional.

    I would say Nomi's a Nono :rotfl:

Also, just had a look at their website, it looks like it was created using Family Tree Maker 4 :rotfl:

You can phone The South Pole for £1.40 per min if you fancy talking to the penguins.

  • Which web site are you referring? They changed their service name so many times, not sure if you are looking at the current one. I know Lebara is way bigger than Nomi, but their web site looks worse, tho.

If you where given the SIM at work i would get back to your IT bod or whichever BOD dished the cards out .

Big company probably find they employ a few people and are selling on a product .

  • They have not made switching to their new service a smooth process. I too have lost count of the number of calls made to their customer service team trying to get my old number ported and balance transferred to the new sim. Now that they have cut the old sim service, they won't/can't give me the PAC code. So I now have to change my number.

A manager from customer service was supposed to call me this morning...

Nomi have moved from operating on Vodafone to O2, by arrangement with Lycamobile

That's why a new SIM card is required

Why it doesn't seem to be as straightforward as you hope, I don't know.

If you get exasperated and give up and want to look at others, there are plenty of similar providers

Econet, Globalcell, GT Mobile, Lebara, Lycamobile, Nomi, Now Mobile, Talkmobile, Vectone, plus possibilities on the main networks such as Orange's Camel tariff, international add-on options on O2 T-mobile and 3, callthrough possibilities on 3 and Orange and T-mobile using Yourcallworld, some other callthroughs on 3 on either their own or other prefix codes, and some cheap destinations from Vodafone.

    Almost anywhere, in other words
  • Thank you for your info,
They were trying to shift their carrier to 3 and launched Nomi-Star, which they quickly withdrew, and they are with o2 now? The whole thing is beyond absurd.

I have received the SIM 2 days ago, and currently trying to get my credit transferred to the new SIM. As soon as i finish using the credit SIM will go straight to bin!!
  • I called them numerous times as well and asked them to port my number. They kept stalling and saying sorry your request wasn't taken. When I asked them for my PAC code a few days before they were due to disconnect the number, I got told their system wasn't working so I should call back after the disconnection date. Anyway, I called after that date and was given a PAC code only to find that t-mobile wouldn't port the number and I got told to go back to NOMI about it. When I called them, they just apologised and said I had lost my number. They are really incompetent and their service was terrible. They really need to be reported to Ofcom.
