CAHOOT - PPI - Reclaim - Help please

I took out a flexible loan from Cahoot in 2005. I have been charged PPI for 5 years unbeknown to me, I have checked Terms and Conditions and my agreement, I have never agreed to sign up for PPI.

I only found out as Santander, the new owners of the loan give a breakdown of charges on there paper statements.

I have sent a letter asking for a refund, nobody has got back to me. Santander who now own the loan say it is not there problem and Cahoot say it is down to Santander who manage the loan. Surprise Surprise.

I have instructed them by post to stop the PPI but nobody has got back to me.

Can anybody please help here?

Cheers

    Hi there

Even if Santander have taken over, if Cahoot are still active then write to them anyway.

However, you could give the FOS a ring and they may write to them on your behalf if you request for this, just tell them you don't know what direction to take here.
They should be able to help someway or another.;)

Good luck, please let us know how you get on, it seems like you do have a good case here.

    Thanks Di,

I have contacted the Ombudsmen, they say I have a good case, they will represent me and take the case forward.

1 week on and Santander (Formerly Abbey National) still can't tell me whom I need to complain to.
I find it disgraceful, given that Cahoot has only ever been a trading name of the Abbey National, I don't see why there is so much pillar to post passing of the buck.

Lets see what happens, one thing is for sure I am not going to let this slip.

So glad the FOS can help, good one......:T
Will the FOS be able to direct you in where to take the others perhaps as well.;)

I am slightly anxious, can going to the Ombudsmen affect credit rating and future borrowing?

    Hi and absolutely not.;)

However, I would if you required a loan is try for one elsewhere to the one your reclaiming from.

    Good luck.

i appreciate this has been a chore but make sure they are giving you all of your money back, request a full list of charges, add the interest and make sure you get it all back, ITS YOUR MONEY

    Hi

We are in the same situation with Cahoot and Santander. Just wondering if you could give me the contact address where you got the positive response from.

    Thanks

(Have sent a PM, but just in case anyone else has any advice on this).

    Thanks
