I am trying to save £70 by filling the Stamp duty form SDLT1 myself...

The first problem I have is I can t get hold of the form!

It is not at the post office and don't seem to be available to download or order online...

Does anyone know how to get it?

Thank you

Regardless I am buying a house or not £70 is £70.

I you think like that why are you on this website in the first place?

Actually IN THE CONTEXT OF BUYING A HOUSE, I find myself with much less money in my bank account so yeah it does matter!!!

I can't believe I am even bothering explaining myself here. Can anyone help?

£70 - you've probably used that much up in effort trying to find the form :)

If I was making 10k a month yes I guess my time would be more valuabe... but as it is I have some free time over the next couple of days and saving £70 (even if it takes me 4 hours) will make me happy!

Also, the concept of this website is to help people save money, not encouraging them spending them to "save time".

NOW of course if I was a company director about to get a half a million pounds house, I would probably be spending my time on the internet looking for designers to decorate my house! YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN... ;-l

Thank you tara47!!! I can't believe what people say sometimes. I am not encouraging everyone to do it, as apparently it takes time and is a bit of a pain... BUT if you have the time, then why not?

Also I am one of the lucky one today as I am a first time buyer exchanging friday... NO STAMP DUTY to pay... yooopiii!

Anyway, I will post it on this thread if I am going to manage or if I am going to give up!

I have ordered the form online on the HMRC website. It does mention ordering SDLT2,3,4,5,6... but ever SDLT1..? Anyway... I hope it will work.

    Lets see.
