Hi,
I posted an item via recorded delivery which the buyer is now disputing that they never received.

Also why are Royal Mail unable to provide a signature a thought that this was what i paid for?
Any advise on this.

According to Paypal you should send all inland items by Special Delivery, not recorded. I'm sorry to say that without specific evidence that the item was delivered at the buyer's address you are likely to lose the dispute.
You should consider using DHL in future - you can now send DHL items from many WHSmith stores, through the service point. It's not particularly expensive.0 -

No you dont, it has to be a trackable method.
OP that looks fine it means its been delivered but you cant view the signature online, you can get a copy if you ask them and they will send it to you but i think they charge a small fee.0 -
whats the value of the item?
many offices still use the paper sheets for signing so the sig will not be updated yet
those cards are sent away for uploading.the 19th was thursday so at best the cards would be sent Friday
the dept dealing with uploading the scans will most likely be a monday to friday dept.0 -

If you read the Paypal rules carefully they mention Royal Mail Special Delivery as being acceptable for internal UK delivery.0 -

Online documentation from a postal company that includes all of the following:
A status of “delivered” (or equivalent) and the date of delivery.
The recipient’s address, showing at least the city/county or postcode (or international equivalent).
Signature Confirmation for transactions that total £150 or more (see Foreign Currency Equivalents below).
this item shows as delivered just now
SD & RD track on the same RM website and give pretty much the same info0 -
From Paypal: " Royal Mail's Recorded Signed For and Special Delivery online tracking displays only the delivery status of a package (e.g. whether the delivery is "delivered" or "pending"). To meet the "proof of posting" criteria as set out in our Seller Protection Programme when using these Royal Mail services, you will need to provide us with the stamped receipt showing the valid online tracking number and the buyer's address as it appears on the relevant PayPal Transaction Details."
As long as you have the receipt you'll be fine.0 -
Marklv you have just totally contradicted yourself there.0

the electronic proof of signature can be viewed on royal mail site, just keep checking back as it will appear sometime0
