The phone no. I have used for years has stopped being answered and I have not been able to find any concrete advice on what I am supposed to do.
Please, does anyone know what is happening here?

186k would like to make it clear that although the action by Tiscali has caused significant disruption to its operations, and even more inconvenience to end users and resellers, the business continues to operate as normal and is ***working hard to restore access for customers and move them to BT Wholesale’s stable and reliable network***
OUCH !SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
You can get a temporary login from Tiscali that will see you right for a month until you migrate your ISP to a new provider. Or, as per diamond's post, you can stay with 186k by asking them to put you on a different underlying platform (BT's not Tiscali's).
Here are a few more posts and blogs. Read the "users comments" links for to see lots of other folks' experiences. (note that when the problem first occurred, most people thought that it was due to the death of 186k which was subsequetly found not to be the case).

I've been meaning to leave EFH for sometime but didn't get around to it until now. After an hour or so on the phone last week was reconnected. Finding out what had happened I decided to migrate and asked EFH for my MAC and was told they couldn't give it and to phone Tiscali. Phoned Tiscali for my MAC and was told they couldn't give it only EFH. Phoned EFH again and asked again for my MAC. The guy made a half hearted attempt to talk me out of it and then gave me my MAC.
BTW I've tried to give notice to EFH that I'm leaving, by emailing sales & accounts at EFH but emails bounce straight back. The 'Support' email address works. Both of their fax numbers don't work and I've given up waiting for them to answer their phone. All a bit worrying if you are staying.0 -
I have not been able to contact efh either by phone or email, OFCOM contacted them on my behalf but were ignored so cant do anything else for me.
I managed to get my MAC code from Tiscali on Wednesday but when I tried to transfer to O2 Tiscali would not allow me to move by putting a block on my line. Tiscali are disconnecting me on the 10th.
I will never go to Tiscali so will loose my connection0 -
Just got my MAC from Tiscali, not being cut off yet. Was told that my temp access will remain available until I migrate to O2.
To their credit they were able to give me the MAC straight away.
This is the second time this has happened, 186k Caveat emptor!

Hi, my story mirrors that above.
I have just been told I have to pay up to March as I was the one who migrated. Thyey were already paid a month in advance so surely that means they have already lifted that out of my account anyway.
I have never been in debt so would pay if I really owe them but this looks like intimidation to me AKA bullying.
Anybody else have this going on?0 -
I received the same message on my screen basically informing me that 186k were no longer providing a service. When I contacted Tiscalli I was told that I had 30 days free service and could use that to either find another ISP or sign up with Tiscalli. I went with another ISP immediately.
Now out of the blue I have been receiving e-mails from the finance team at 186k demading money for a service I did not receive. They insist that the service was always there for me to use and that I choose to leave them so therefore I now owe them money. Needless to say I will not be paying and will be seeking professional advice.0
