You just download the desktop app (or use the web version) and scan the QR code that pops up on first use using the phone that has Whatsapp already setup on. Couldn't be easier.

It says you have to go to menu of the app onthe phone but there is no menu - so not easy.0 -

Sorry, just looked at your phone. It's on Kitkat and has Whatsapp already installed I believe? It's possible that the latest version of Whatsapp just isn't compatible with either the phone or the OS and the one you've got is an older version of Whatsapp.0 -
I had a thought while out walking the dogs, you'll need to beg, borrow or steal a more up to date phone and put your sim in it. Download Whatsapp if needed and you should be able to pair it then.0
