Washing machine installation - would they lift it over a worktop?

    I would consider altering the units so they can be dissembled or moved without to much damage otherwise this will be a reoccurring problem.

    Thanks for all the replies folks. I managed to dismantle a portion of one side, the shelving. If I manoeuvre it sideways I'll now be able to get the old wm out and new one in.

    Just looking ahead now to when the cooker eventually needs to be replaced as that definitely won't fit! I think it's lighter than the washing machine, so there is that - but I'll deal with that one when I come to it.

    Hurrah. As for the cooker, as long as its not an aga then it'll be mostly fresh air and much lighter - no blocks of concrete required for stability!
