So..... M&S didn't give Sparks card holders a preview to the sale :(
Last look it wasn't advertised as such on the website, but browse through and many things are reduced 'sale'.

I had an email, but the stuff online mostly lacklustre if that is any consolation.

We went to our local store on 27th ( it was closed 26th) and I came home with one shirt, a pack of pants and some cards : I had change from my £25 voucher and didn't use any of my cash! Extremely quiet instore.

I wanted two new jumpers but was faced with wall-to- wall shapeless polyester and fuzzy "recycled" fabric numbers - all of which looked really uninviting. I learned the hard way earlier in the year that these garments become mid-shapen and very sad looking in no time, even when hand washed.

DS2 bought a traditional overcoat but took it back because it did not have any pockets - what idiot thought that was a "design feature"?

End of grumpy old woman rant :D

I quite like M&S but this year only their basic stuff is wearable (underwear, plain tops) and they are rarely in the sale. A lot of hideous shapeless dresses in this year’s collection. I’m not much of a one for revealing clothes but neck-to-ankles flowery sacks don’t flatter anyone....

    I like M&S leggings.
I bought 3 pair of good quality ones in the sale.
2 pair were £7.50, one pair was £12.00 (but they are quite dressy).

Ooops, I have been delighted to find dresses with sleeves and that are long enough to cover my damaged knees so I have bought more dresses this year than I have in the last four. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I hope you will find things you like soon.

I bought a pair of flat leather shoes half price. I’m absolutely delighted with them. I paid full price for my navy blue ones so knew the sizing and fit.

I thought the sale went to 70% off then 90% off.

But I have no idea when it happens.

All the Christmas cards and paper were 75% off in store yesterday (4m = 50p & 14m = £1) but sorry I didn’t look at anything else

It only went to 60% off in the last few days. So at least a week, often longer. They have played the long game for the last couple of sales- leaving stock at the higher price until most of it is gone. Then they very quickly move from 70% off, to 90% off. Sometimes 70% off is online and sometimes not.
