Well I had a transfer of a larger amount into my Lloyds account, went through all ok, cant see why it would be different for another bank. So the money is to the solicitor yes ?
Why not ask Halifax tomorrow, they are best place to know or just transfer it now.

The money is going to the solicitor, yes. I was worried it may be too much in one transfer.

So we can transfer it online? When you say fraud checks, what sort would be done online?

They'll block the transfer and ask you to ring them.

You'll answer a few security questions. You'll explain where the money is going. They'll warn you about various scams, then stay on the line while you complete the transaction.

Bank of Scotland blocked a transfer out of my account to an account of mine I regularly made payments into. The phone call was long (about 20 mins) and involved questions from my credit profile. One of them - which I felt was really odd, was the name of one of my flat mates, as it appears on the electoral roll. Then I was given a long speech about fraud, asked several times if it was genuinely me making the payment and others as such. I felt it was weird, especially for a small amount, less than £2k. But they!!!8217;ve approved the payment on the spot.

Because some banks still have a transfer limit that is below £15,000 (for example, Monzo is £10,000).

All personal account customer limits are listed here:

I transferred £16000 back in June to my solicitor from my Halifax current account using the online payments method and it went through like any other payment.

Then go to the payment limits tab.
    £25000 limit per day
Of course you pay still have to talk to them if they think the sum is unusual. But that is for your protection.

Can I enquire as to what kind of security questions they tend to ask so I'm prepared.
