Thank you for sticking around :D

I dont necessarily have the most interesting writing style or even have that much interesting to write about. But it still helps to know I'm inspiring as it spurs me on to keep debt busting.

    Just a quick mini update.

As mentioned earlier I've trialed a few selling methods on Ebay. It seems to have worked.

I had a bundle of baby clothes for sale for a BUY IT NOW price of £7.50 and a p&p of £1.50

I thought it would appeal to have a lower p&p price, I'll absorb the rest from the actual bundle being sold. Previously I've sold similar bundles and started an auction at 99p. Rarely will they have got above £3

So once all fees have been removed including the PayPal fee and the actual p&p cost I'll have made about £4.60. Better than a 99p auction sale where I've worked out profit to be a mere 27p or there abouts.

    WARNING

OK here's a warning for those using Ebay. I regularly check my selling account and look at the current fees bill so I know exactly what needs to stay in the PayPal account. I noticed there was a £2.50 gallery plus fee in there. It's against one of my current listings. I knew for a fact this was wrong. I always check that starting fees are 0.

Contacted Ebay. Turns out there is a known issue/glitch where random £2.50 fees are being added (apparently they're in the process of resolving this). I got my refund. I suspect that had I not called I wouldn't have just been refunded. So check your fees guys, you don't want any nasty surprises.

This morning I was up at 5.30 am getting ready for work. After a shockingly poor sleep and now the beginnings of a horrid cold.

I knew I'd get a cold, all the lads in the office have been suffering for about a week and half so it was a matter of time. I just hate how run down colds make me feel.

6.30 am DS shouts me from his room, he'd been sick in his bed. He said he had a tummy ache last night whilst doing reading homework but I assumed it was another effort to get out of homework *bad mummy moment*.
And as DH has only just returned to work after being off sick with his back we decided I should stay off work.

DS was sick a 2 further times by 8.30 am. He's been fine since. Called his school explaining his absence and confirmed they have a 24hr rule of no sickness before return.
School starts at 8.50am tomorrow so if he remains fine until tomorrow morning he'll be going back in.

Then there's DD. No sickness. But I suspect she's getting a cold too. She's on her 3rd nap of the day. She normally only has the one.

So with the unexpected day off I've just been doing the odd survey etc.
I've managed to pay more off the Next account.
I've sold 6 of my Ebay items. Waiting for payment on one. Of the 5 items paid for I've made a profit of £7.50. Can't argue with that. So that came off the Next account.

Decided to download the Qmee app. It pays pennies for surveys. They don't take long. Made 31p in about 3mins. Withdrew it straight away into my PayPal. Appeared instantly with no charges, so got full 31p. Again 31p extra off a debt!

Well my optimism where DS is concerned was short lived. He may not be vomiting any more but he's got a runny bottom. Oh the joys. Gonna have to hope my mum has him tomorrow. He seems fine in himself.

Final Ebay sale paid up. The profit along with a £1.14 earning from Qmee has meant I've paid another £3.10 paid off the Next account this evening :T

  • Hey, thanks for mentioning qmee. I had a look and got nearly 60p just while settling Pickle. I think I'll build that one up in the days I spend and with draw money on a nsd so I can make a pad in my mop pot.

Hope little one is better soon.

Thanks for stopping by and subscribing Rachel.

I have to give credit to another DFW diary writer Misstara for the little payments thing. I read her diary and really saw the benefit and impact that these little payments make.
