Life Insurance / assurance policies?
I have none, if I was to shuffle off this mortal coil tonight there would be nothing to cover my funeral costs or leave anything for a will...
I also have no contents insurance (building insurance covered by local authority)... they have a deal for tenants who pay their rent in advance by DD where you can get contents insurance really cheap and it's good cover too (says my smug friend who is always ahead with her rent...)
Love her really ;D
Must look into getting good cover soon as...
Right, getting off here now before she hits me again

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Hi!
Good luck with your journey!
On the cat front, they are fantastic for company (I have 4) but what you could do is foster cats for a local charity? They'll generally cover food, litter, vet bills etc but lack on homes for the cats whilst they try to find permanent homes or whilst getting better /over coming issues with people.
You would get to help a cat or 2 out whilst they improve and move on to their forever home and generally they don't ask for a person to have a garden, just a bit of time to spend and help a cat
I know of charities here that do it but I'm sure there will be your way too (think smaller than cats protection, one near me is called goldies oldies which specialises in rehoming elderly cats)
Right, I may now sound like a crazy cat lady but hey!0 -

The keyboard isn't working at all now and I have to use the usb one I borrowed... and a mouse too as the touch pad is sometimes working and sometimes not.
I am hoping the PC I seen in the second-hand shop is still there on Saturday morning...BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron

Fingers crossed the computer is still there for you!
Love the idea of fostering cats, and seems a great way of having a pet and some company when you don't have a lot of money or space, plus how rewarding to give them some love when they need it most! Only thing is how do you not get attached, id end up adopting them all!!Loan £13,339.81 (4.9%) Current End Date Dec 2020

I really hope it is too, thanks
That is what concerns me about fostering cats... I'd wanna keep them all too...
However, the idea of giving an old house cat a home does appeal to me, but I would be heartbroken when they passed on...BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron

Just read your diary and it's fab how you're sorting yourself out and sounding so positive Many of us here in diary land have so much more going on than just money unfortunately.
If you really want a cat then a lot of cats would be content being indoor cats. A nice bowl of food and a lap to sit on is all they require. You wouldn't have to worry about them straying or being run over either.
Good luck on your journey.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

We had a cat who was very happy to stay indoors. Always found the sunniest part of the house to lie in. The lady who lives next door to me has an indoor cat as well so I would go for it, Great company. On the subject of contents insurance I have mine with the local authority and it's added on the the fortnightly rent. The cover is good, it's cheap and it doesn't have to be paid in one go. Worth thinking about.
By the way, you're doing really well/Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
