I have seen a second hand one which has some rust on axle, i guess that is standard as all trailers rust, right?
Or would you stay away?0 -
Brian James need to get his advertising and marketing sorted out, I never see anything but ifor Williams trailers around.
IW seem to have the livestock transporter market sewn up.
Seems to me that BJ have the car transporter market - which is what the OP seems to be talking about - sewn up.
There are various continental manufacturers coming in a bit cheaper - there's probably not enough different on a single purchase to be worth self-importing, by the time you've factored the ferry trip in, especially if you're not right on top of the port. How do future parts availability and value sit, though? As has been pointed out, a 10yo BJ car transporter is worth a very high proportion of the new cost, if it's in good nick. And hasn't been nicked. They're one of the biggest scrote-magnets I can think of.0 -

Insurance for a trailer?
Crikey have never had that.0 -
Any vehicle towing a trailer automatically has 3rd Party only on the trailer.
And trailers of all types are much cheaper in The Netherlands or Germany.0 -

Let's say the equivalent of a 3.7m, 1500kg Brian James C2 Blue. £1,610 list here.

While it's coupled to the car you have only 3rd Party cover on it unless you insure the trailer separately.
So if you damage it, or if it gets nicked - you receive nothing.0 -
Same when you rent, they expect you to have the right insurance for the trailer
I suppose i could insure the trailer so my race car is covered but that isn't a big concerns
My towing car is heavy and well capable of pulling a 2.5 ton trailer and i won't be drifting while towing:)0
