Alternative to Google new style calendar

Options
Out of curiosity I Google to see if it was possible to revert to old Google calendar layout. Seems I'm not alone. Thousands have registered their feelings, constructively but Google say, no way. Folk are now seeking an alternative. Do you use something similar to that old style that will Sync?.

I can be relied upon to give half a story. What I should have said, the layout on phone/tablet doesn't bode well with me.

If you have a Samsung, try their inbuilt calendar.....
You aren't looking at the web based calendar, are you?

Any half decent calendar app can act as a client for Google calendar - though few do much if anything that the stock Android app - and I assume ios app - can't do perfectly well.

If you want the old calendar, search Google Play Store for 'Calendar' by a developer called Duoserve. It is the calendar app from Android 4.4.

Actually, it' ok, the first thing I notice is that the icon shows the exact date, unlike Google with its standard 31. As for the month view, each day there is an entry, there is just a line that requires ticking before it shows up, can this be improved on.

Have you looked at the widgets? And the Samsung Planner widgets?

Hands up time, I don't know what they are. In a min I will explore, but reluctant to delve into the unknown.

Let's take a step back. Ideally I want the same layout easy to read, no frills display seen on samsung a5 phone, samsung tablet and w10 on laptop.

Google was fine until they updated with various colour etc .

I looked at the inbuilt Samsung calendar and that is fine, but it cannot be brought to laptop. Sad really as it actually shows todays date on icon.

Then there is the Playstore Calendar, Duoserve. That too is fine on phone and tablet, but not available on laptop.

Will look at the widget thing but will be surprised if it is available on all three devices.
