    I started losing a lot of hair all of a sudden. So, I consulted a specialist and he gave a list of medications. Still, it didn't work out. COuld you people help me what I can do with this?

    Hair loss isn’t one of the side effects listed for Metformin. It might be worth discussing this with your GP.

    Have you had any physical trauma in the last few weeks as this can cause temporary hair loss. I was seriously ill in hospital for a month a few yesrs ago and about 3 months later my hair started falling out. I checked with my GP plus my own research and was advised that it was a common effect of the physical trauma. It started growing back of its own accord.

    I know its scary to even think of alopecia... buut, its not a death sentence
    I personally shed alot of hair while brushing and washing it. At first, I was very sacred. But my doc said its normal to lose a given amount of hair on a daily basis. However, more than normal, like a handful is definitely termed as hair loss
    He recommended I use hair supplements, both natural and some i bought from the nutrition shop.
    I have been using coconut and olive oil consistently and i have seen significant improvement in the growth and body of my hair.
    I got more information from a website called MOAW, maybe you can have a look.

    Has anyone any experience of using castor oil for hair loss/ thinning please?
    I am trying to be proactive, I am 50 and experiencing some menopausal symptoms.
    Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.

    Ive been considering transplantation for a few years now, but as a 42 year old male, my biggest worry is having a transplant to fix my receding hairline, only for the original hairline to continue receding and the new hair to stay growing thick, leaving me with a blad strip a few inches back :(

    Britishboy - You did make me smile - I could just imagine a sideways parting. TBH with male baldness, receding hairlines etc I find that very short cropped hair looks much more attractive to me, especially with a neatly trimmed beard ;) Very dashing

    It can be so difficult to cope with hair loss. I first experienced hair loss in my late 20's a few months after giving birth. The doctors all told me that it was normal to lose hair postpartum, but what I experienced was really extreme. It took a couple of years, but eventually, my hair did grow back. I wore a wig to help me feel better about myself until my hair grew back. It's now about 5 years later and I have had another baby. While I was pregnant, I took all sorts of vitamins in an effort to do whatever I could to prevent the same thing from happening. My hair loss may not be as bad this time around as it was last time, but I still lost a significant amount of hair.

    My question is if anyone has tried Cepharanthine to treat their hair loss? Ive been hearing a lot about it lately. It seems to be popular in Japan and is approved by the ministry of health there.

    There was an article about it on medium if anyone is interested in checking it out.

    I totally agree with you. I also had problems with hair loss and only after the transplant the issue was solved.

    It works well to make my eyelashes grow longer but it is a pain to shampoo out if you use it on your head.

    I find a really good hair / nails multi vitamin can help - currently using Perfectil Max.
