Thank you Ladyinwaiting
I hope you do as well
The thing is, not all the advice and answers on this forum are correct as some people giving advice are misinformed. This in turn can put some people off from making a complaint.0 -
So as far as I can understand your questions are
Can I make a Plevin complaint without the insurance being cancelled?
Can I make a Plevin complaint and keep any redress without it being put against any amounts paid out from a sucessful claim on the insurance?Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...0 -
My query is around a PPI commission complaint (Plevin) that I haven’t put in yet.
I have one credit card (Barclaycard) that I haven’t made a PPI complaint on because it wasn’t mis sold.
I knowingly took the PPI out when I was working. I also made a successful claim on the PPI when I fell ill quite a number of years ago now.
It’s this card that I am going to make a PPI Commission (Plevin) complaint about.
Barclaycard advise on their website that you can put in a complaint just regarding PPI Commission (Plevin).
I just want to know, if the PPI commission complaint (Plevin) is upheld, will they deduct any money paid on a successful ill health claim made on the PPI, out of the redress (like they would do with a PPI complaint) ?
Where a claim was previously paid
DISP App 3.7A.10E
Where a claim was previously paid on the policy, the firm should not deduct this from the redress paid.0 -
Hi Taff,
Thanks for your reply, it’s the second point as I no longer have the card.0 -
Hi Placida,
Thank you for your reply and answering my question0 -
@Placida can complaints about Plevin be made without the insurance being cancelled.
Is this written down anywhere ?

Where a regular premium policy is live
DISP App 3.7A.7E
Additionally, for a regular premium payment protection contract, where the policy is live the firm should disclose the current level of known or reasonably foreseeable commission and currently anticipated profit share and give the complainant the choice of continuing with the policy without change or cancelling the policy without penalty.
Hope this helps0 -
@ Placida - thank you. Very much appreciated. Cheers0

According to the FCA HANDBOOK DISP App 3.7A Approach to redress at step 2
Where a claim was previously paid
DISP App 3.7A.10E
Where a claim was previously paid on the policy, the firm should not deduct this from the redress paid.
Hello Placida
Does the above FCA disp rule apply to Plevin only complaints or all complaints? Thanks0
