I agree with you, stormpassing about being sure the money really is 'spare'. There's not much point saving it one day only to have to dip in and spend it on groceries the last week of the month when there's nothing in your purse. I'm not suggesting you'd do that but I certainly have had to:o
Slow and steady is the way to go if it means the money stays safe for a 'real' emergency:beer:0 -

That's the good thing about having a large chunk of money in the account. It will earn interest which just adds to the fund.
I will admit to spending £65 on a Blu-ray player today as i am treating myself to Roger Waters 'The Wall' special edition Blu-ray later in the month.Never Knowingly Understood.

Well done, all. An inspiration as always:T
I was hoping to be able to add a bit to my EF next week but sadly it looks as if what's already in there is about to take a bashing:(
I think the cooling fan on my laptop has died. It used to come on and off intermittently (and was pretty noisy when it was on). Always had a desktop PC until I bought this laptop a couple of years ago so not sure if that's what's supposed to happen:o. Now the fan doesn't come on at all and the underneath of the laptop is getting extremely hot after a very short while. Can't bear to have it actually on my lap:eek:
Patman, I know you have expertise in computers and recently fixed one for your friend:). Have you any idea if whatever's wrong with mine is terminal please? Could it be easily fixed and what would it likely cost? The laptop was a refurbished one and has been brilliant in every way until this past couple of months.
I can't live without internet access so if it's likely to be an expensive (relative to the value of the laptop) job it might be more cost effective buying a newer and more up to date laptop instead:(
Sorry to start the day off with a moan:o. Was really thinking things were on a bit of an up until this.
Sorry about long post but have just been on YouTube since writing the above and there are all sorts of solutions for the problem on there (all with conflicting advice as ever;)). If the problem is nothing more than dust build-up inside the laptop (as seems to be a very common problem) I'm going to have a go at one or two of the DIY fixes to blow the dust out before I seek help:j. Any other advice will still be most welcome though:beer:0 -
Sorry to hear about your trouble with your laptop carbootcrazy. I cannot offer any advice because the only thing I know about computers is how to use them . I do hope it's just a simple fix without costing any or much and won't drain your EF."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150
