you might want to re think your insurance arrangements

This is why my son is riding about on a wee 125cc Honda instead of getting a car, he was quoted 2k for insurance for a Fiesta, sure I could get a policy in my name like the OP and put him on it, but we'd rather do it the legal way that doesn't have the possibility of 6 months in the Grey Bar Hotel.

Where I live we've newly passed kids running about in 330d BMW's or VAG scrap trailing the bodywork off the ground whilst spewing out black smoke like a Class 37 locomotive.

    Seriously, it's bad news.

AIUI the maximum penalty, though unlikely, is life imprisonment.

I simply asked if he was sure she was driving both times. I think you'll find if you re-read not once did i say 'tell them you were driving one of those times to deliberately mislead them and avoid getting points'.

You're talking horlicks. You do realise that you can also get in trouble for enticing someone to commit a criminal offence, don't you? Go and suggest someone do as you suggested on pepipoo and see where it gets you.

To be fair point out one of the mods is wrong and he doesn't like it.

it is really hard for a new driver to get on the road legally due to extortionate insurance costs, i learn to drive in the 70,s and it was £89.00 for my first comprehensive insurance policy on a ford escort which was a lot of money to me as i was earning around £26.00 a week as an apprentice, but today when you hear of people being quoted between two and four grand it is not surprising there are so many uninsured young drivers on the road

I had a quote just shy of £5,000 from Aviva when I passed my test. Every other insurer I checked was £500-800ish so I can only guess they didn't want new drivers as customers. Perhaps some of these quotes are the same?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

My first was with the co-op just south of £120. Fortunately I was able to write a cheque and get a cover note in the comfort of the front room. Not much has changed with the internet.

    NSL and one carriageway? 60
    NSL and two carriageways? 70

I find people get carrigeways confused with lanes. I have both a single lane dual carriageway and a two lane single carrigeways near me.

I know they are somewhat rare. But they do exist. On the dual carriageway people go slow and on the single they speed.

For once I am with Tarambor. We don't often agree with one another. The suggestion made would put both the OP and his/her friend at risk of going to prison. So yes, there really IS need for this. Not just for the sake of the OP and his/her friend, but also for anyone else that might come across this thread and decide it's a good idea.

My point of saying no need for this was the name calling. Just no need to call another human being 'pond life.' Thats what i was getting at
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
