Has anyone mowed their lawn yet?

Options
With all this unusually mild weather, I'm itching to go and mow my lawn. It's starting to grow and looks untidy.

I can't think of a reason why I shouldn't, but wondered if it would come to harm if the really cold weather (ice, snow etc) returned?

Thank you. I will now you've given me permission. :o, just didn't want to look a complete idiot. My neighbours aren't particularly 'garden proud' (although not disreputable!) but I don't feel so alone now.

Update: both lawns mowed and look much better. I am now very much out of breath. Didn't realise that lawn mowing made you fit! (There's a forecast for rain tonight in my area, so it spurred me into action).

OH mowed lawn last week. It's amazing how one job can make the whole garden look more cared for.

Especially if someone else does it! Wish my OH could do ours, but he's a bit incapacitated at the moment.

You're right though; (although the borders need weeding), it looks so much better.

Did mine on Sunday - was cursed by many a (male) neighbour and dogwalker for giving ideas to their other halfs :rotfl:

I did ours on Sunday too, was looking ready for one (albeit a bit damp still) and rain was forecast for Monday. Looks so much better and means we can pressure wash the patios this weekend too (didn't want to do those then get lawn clippings all over them)

Couple of neighbours mowed theirs a few weeks ago.

On a similar thread started back in early January, I was mowing then....and I'm still mowing.

It's not really positive news, unless you happen to sell lawnmowers and only think about what's happening in your own back yard.

Nope - far too wet here to even consider it. :(
