Section 75 loophole!

Options
A Company refusing to accept my credit card payment when i turned up at the address, they told me i must make payment over the phone through Barclaycard.
Is this a third party and would it affect my consumer rights.
Should i be concerned about this as it's a large purchase?

Sounds odd but more details needed really.

If Barclaycard are simply acting as a payment processor on behalf of the merchant then it doesn't break the link as far as S75 is concerned, but this might be some other type of service.

Are they geared up to receive customers at the address you visited?

That said, it is often a rule that if you pay over the phone/online, the goods must be delivered to the cardholder's address, at least to start with. Taking a CC over the phone/online and then allowing someone to collect is open to fraud, unless they can present the card at the time of collection.

    Agree, more detail needed.
