Why is ATOS not able to purchase sufficient recorders so as to have sufficient when claimants request a recorded interview.

I too had an atos medical back in November.

Whilst I got very upset during the interview, I found the lady nurse I had very caring, and sympathetic.

When I got a copy of my ESA85 atos medical report, she was very honest, and professional, and placed me into support group straightaway.

This was my first medical, and I have to say I was very happy how it went.

The last attempt at this got de-railed by people's comments, Andrea has asked people not to do this and some of us have reasonable questions which we would really like answered.
It will only get pulled again if people carry on.
There are plenty of other places on MSE to comment on ATOS!

I have received an ESA50 and am unable to write, or leave my home and have no one to assist me. Who do I telephone to assist me with filling in this form? They will have to visit me at home. CAB are too busy and cannot come out and I cannot get to them.

    Your response would be appreciated.

Silks, I have nothing to do with Atos, but because I help people in your position every day I wanted to point you in the right direction. There is a lot of help online. On Facebook in particular, there are groups where you can ask for help.

I can't post links (dammit), but if you look up "Disability & Benefits Support - Don't Go Alone. (Formerly Support & Escort)" on Facebook it should take you to one such group.

Why are ATOS not asking for medical evidence from G.P.'s and other health care professionals? Why are ATOS expecting the claimants to do this? It is costing the claimants a lot of money, where it is free if asked for by ATOS.

Can you fill the form in online?
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.

If you turn up to an assessment, but refuse to give consent for non-medically proficient staff to carry out an assessment, what happens ?

Why Atos doesn`t take into consideration medical reports?

    Are Atos assessors on commission?
  • Why are nurses that do assessments allowed to override GP and Surgeon reports? Are the doctors not more qualified than a nurse? Everything that has been sent to Atos has been ignored or dismissed by lesser qualified individuals. Another point I am doubly incontinent, my GP and Surgeon back me on this but Atos says they and I are lying, what have I got to do to prove my medical conditions when Atos repute every one of them and give 0 points. I get the higher rate mobility but Atos says I can walk 500 metres which is lies on their part, I cannot walk the length of myself without stopping or falling over.

In terms of an aid or appliance for mobilising, what is considered to be the definition of medically reasonable. For example a consultant prescribed said person a wheelchair for long distances, from assessment was deemed that wheelchair can be used to mobilise short distances through working day. This will compromise said persons condition making them unable to carry out tasks that they can currently do down the line due to the effect it will have on their leg strength. Is this medically reasonable?

Also if deemed to use a chair to mobilise around a work environment why does the ability to get up or down 2 steps go back to them using crutches or other aid? Surely the same aid should be considered as a wheelchair user can not get up 2 steps and even if they can walking they need to be able to get the chair up the steps as well.
