British Gas

I left British Gas because of the hassle I got over Smart Meters.
But boy has it been difficult. Firstly they split my gas and electricity to end each separately, at the end they informed me I was owed £50 quid, so I was waiting for a refund. After a while I got an email from them to say I owed them £70 odd quid and as I hadn't paid it they were going to send the bailiffs round. I had left my Direct Debit open as they requested so I could pay the final bill. But when I queried this they told me they never take the final bill from a DD. So I paid up the £70 quid they said I owed. but I have never got the £50 odd quid they said they would refund me I think this was for the gas element. Terrible service from them, I would never go back to British Gas.

    I can see you are relieved now you have gotten ridden of the rotten supplier.

    You may want to consider reporting these scammers to Ofgem, as I see that is often advocated by some people here:

    Have you ever chased them up on the £50, or are you just going to let them keep it?
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
