Using a chromebook, to screensave, I click the three dots top right, scroll down to more tools and the arrow to "Take screenshot" where "show in folder" appears and "copy to clipboard".
Access to view/delete I can do via folder, but I cannot find the route to clipboard. There must be quite a few things there yet to be seen.
Maybe you could advise please?.

Its saved on clipboard.
Just 'right click' to paste into.......... say a email body or a document
The 6th button at top of keyboard is the shortcut to screensave (ctrl +icon)

There is only one thing on the clipboard - whatever you last copied. It is a temporary storage space used for the copy and paste functionality of a computer. Why do you want to look at the clipboard?0

In a word, curiosity. Having seen copy to clipboard for ages, and knowing I may well have done just that, thought it about time I tried to find it and possibly empty it. But your explanation solves that. It does beg the question why it only holds one though.0 -

Yes ballyblack I'm aware pressing alt+that rectangular window with to lines is a way to screen save, but somehow, it dosen't work everytime. The route described in my O/P, does but I would fibd it more satisfactory to be instant. Going to dots, scrolling, extending etc, means I could lose what I would want to save. Maybe it's possible to set up a short cut key?.
PS, no that's wrong, alt+rectangular window only reduces the page, it is ctrl=+shift +rectangular window.
PPS, no that's wrong. huh.
PPPS, been through every combination of using shift/ctrl/alt with the rectangular window, in either single or double but no luck. Will leave for a few hours now.0 -

In the words of the poet, "it's easy when you know how".
Who would have thought, such a simple process could be made so difficult to understand. I did. But thanks to the perseverance of ballyblack all is well in my little world.
A morning in the garden is called for today and I shall do it, knowing this problem has been solved. Thanks ballyblack.0 -
There used to be a small programme called clipdiary that kept a history of your clipboard and you could copy and paste older items from it.
Not sure if it still works....Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
