It isn't designed to store more than one thing is the reason why. It is so you can use the copy command and then the paste command shortly afterwards. It is emptied when you turn the computer off.In a word, curiosity. Having seen copy to clipboard for ages, and knowing I may well have done just that, thought it about time I tried to find it and possibly empty it. But your explanation solves that. It does beg the question why it only holds one though.0
