3 - more is less

I've been using data sims preloaded with data but the prices have risen. Then I looked up the available data plans from 3.

http://store.three.co.uk/view/searchTariff?priceplan=&deviceType=SIM_ONLY_MBB

So 40gb a month is £17 (paid by direct debit) whilst 20gb is £20 (by DD).

Am I missing something or is twice the monthly data allowance really cheaper?

    When i looked, both 20Gb & 40Gb were £17 - seems like a no brainer!

Er, yeah. The 15GB is the same price too. The page for the 15GB even shows that you can upgrade to 20GB for £3 a month extra. :-/

The 20gb includes go binge, the 40gb does not. Worth considering the difference as you could tether Netflix, tvplayer, etc unlimited presumably with the 20gb

Good spot. If you can benefit from go binge it makes that package cheaper overall.

I'm still showing the 40gb as £17 and 20gb as £20. If others can see something else I'm wondering if different area's have different prices to reflect the local network capacity?

Final thought. The package is £22 minus £5 discount for paying by DD. I suspect the yearly RPI price increase will be based on £22, not £17.

Annual increases don't apply to sim only deals for phones on 3 so imagine data Sims are the same?

The 12 month plan states it goes up by RPI for January each year.

Hmm took out the £5 200 mins contract for my daughter last week for 12 months and the store manager crossed out the part of the contract about annual rises and said it only applied to contracts with handsets?
