    My dealer always valets the car. I rely on this for its annual vacuuming.

    I never let any dealer's workshop wash my car - if you've ever watched them do it you wouldn't either.

    Drop a cruddy sponge on the ground - pick it up - continue rubbing the panels with it!

    I leave a large A4 sheet of paper taped to the windscreen saying 'Do NOT wash or vacuum this car - thank you.'

    I don't see much point in it, could just get dirty again. I'm sure a previous car was washed by a main dealer when it had its service.

    I get my cars professionally detailed and corrected when I buy them and take care of them from then on.

    My cars are still serviced at the main dealer. They are valeted to quite a decent standard.

    Both mine and the wife's cars get valeted when they go in for a service at the main dealers. Hers is a KIA and mine is a Toyota. Both at the same location.

    I allow them to hoover mine if they wish, I don't allow them to wash it, dealerships buy bulk cheap TFR (traffic film remover), thats mixed wrong can be harmful to paint, they use old rags and sponges, and even though I have Soft 99 Fusso coat on my car TFR strips it off easily. Ive not heard of a dealership refuse to service a car because its dirty inside.

    I try and wash the car before any work, but only to a quick and nasty standard. My theory being that a car that looks cared for will be treated with care.
