I need a new mobile.Want to buy an android to use with existing sim card. Something with a good camera but no great need for game playing. Does not have to be very latest model. Any suggestions?

    no budget is not a secret its just that I have zero idea how much a run of the mill android smart phone should cost. £250? £450? £850? £1150? Just to emphasise I do not need the latest state of the art smart phone. A last seasons model would almost certainly be sufficient. I do not want to be electronically tagged to it full time, like my son.....maybe a child's model would do?

    What is this Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite I came across on Amazon for £159?

    OH has a Galaxy and has had to replace his sim card on past upgrades to newer models. Is this something I need to be aware of? Do different models of android phone have different sized sim cards. (I have not upgraded my sony for around 8 years, hence my ignorance.)

    Yes some phones have a mini sim .
    But it is the phone not the OS that decides that .

    most modern phones take a Nano Sim.

    Networks supply SIMs now, which push out whatever size you need

    Have a look at the Moto G7 power at £159. A great all-rounder with a battery that will go days between charges (while everyone else has to charge there's 2 or 3 times a day). I have a Moto e5 which is surprisingly good for the money.

    I would go along with the Moto Range too. Wife has G7plus and I have a G5. Reasonable prices, photos fine.

    Ditto Moto G7 power around £150..........good value and mostly stock android. Takes a Nano SIM.

    Another vote for one of the Moto range. They consistently come out well in reviews of best budget phones.

    I've had a Moto G3 for almost four years and it's still going strong. It might not be as fast as the latest phones, but still performs well for my basic needs.
