A photo taken at Gatwick Airport this morning shows that holidaymakers were being offered a shockingly low exchange rate of less than $0.99 for each £1 - a perfect example of why you shouldn't buy your holiday money at the airport...

    If you leave buying the currency late then your own fault.


    But if you plan correctly either get some currency before you go (whether by post or a currency seller) or arm yourself with a Starling or another card for atm use and say Monzo for paying by card (other cards are avilable).
