We are a similar household to yours.
I like a large capacity machine so that i can wash my super king size bedding.
I also like a quick wash option and a fast spin.

I asked my German neighbour about washing machines recently. He said anything that involves water, go for Bosch. He also said Germans would never buy a Miele washing machine and can't understand why they are so popular here. When I come to replace mine I will be going for Bosch.0

I normally prefer quality and pay extra - be it my mattress, sofa, TV etc.
But I've always taken a different approach with washing machines as when they go wrong and can't be fixed DIY, it's a minimum of £100-150 to get someone out when it's not a warranty job.
So I buy the best of the cheapies as guided by Which and other reviews.
I got a Beko with a decent large drum about 8 years ago. Very happy with how it washes and rinses. Can't recall price exactly but around £275.
When it goes wrong I'll swap it out for a new one.0 -
my current machine does 1600 which is great for subsequent air drying. Good energy rating.
Just a word of warning. Our Hoover has an advertised spin speed of 1600 but it is only the cottons program that selects 1600. Three other programs allow you to set 1600 manually. Otherwise the maximum is 1200.0
