Slight delay to update as a cat sat on me :D

I've listed more things on the bay and have had a couple of sales too :T I'll do the shuffle and update my sig hopefully

I've decided to do a bit of a wardrobe inventory - I've probably got too much stuff :o But that's because I made do with pretty much 2 outfits for work for a long time and went a bit overboard on sales shopping for new work wear when I got the new job which I was just made redundant from. It was a much more professional environment and involved meeting lots of clients - looking the part was important - I bought all my clothes cheaply though in the sales.

    Tally so far is

    work trousers: 6
    work skirts:
    work dresses: 9

i was inspired by reading Jessy's diary about setting targets and was thinking what I could do. It's pretty obvious the target needs to be the target in my sig  When I'm working the mortgage gets a set monthly overpayment which I can afford so it makes sense the target has to be clearing the card and raising extra cash for this. I'm not sure about setting a timescale for it though - I want it gone asap and by the end of the year would be fantastic but that would mean paying £450 a month  I paid off my overdraft just before I was made redundant so am aiming to keep that account in a slight credit / at £0. I'm pleased to have that paid off :T and would love to reduce the cards down and especially to clear this one

Sorting out my wardrobe has lead to me pledging not to buy any new clothes for 1 year :T The only exceptions will be - trainers - I need good trainers to run in to avoid damaging my already bad feet. I will of course, only buy these when they are a need ;) I do already need new tights and this is something I'll need to get throughout the year so those will also be bought new:D I *may* need to buy an outfit for a wedding - I'm aiming to lose weight first to slim into something i already own - the problem at the moment with my weight is that I'd need to buy something as nothing appropriate fits me  More motivation to lose the weight then :D But that is it. I will continue to pick up bargains at carboots if it's something that will fill a gap in my wardrobe but I don't tend to see alot at these anyway and only buy the odd 1 or 2 things. hopefully this will eek everything out over the next year :T

i feel liberated by this :T As much as I love gorgeous clothes I feel my time has instantly been freed up :j no more traipsing round clothes shops, no more going back to return things, no more trying to fit something in the small cupboard of a wardrobe I have :T
I'll obviously be wearing everything I own more and naturally using things up as they become worn-out :T

Maybe not such a revelation for many, but, I'm in the right mindframe for this challenge and am fully committed to it - I'd only be cheating myself if i bought something and didn't confess all on here ;)

I don't have *loads* of clothes, what I do have is 1 cupboard wardrobe thing to store everything in - this includes sportswear and all outerwear - coats, jackets, waterproofs etc. I need to work better with the space I have - even though i'd love to live somewhere bigger and, therefore, have more space. This should help with that as less money spent on clothing ;)

I've listed a few more bits on the bay of e :T

i've also started a new budget and a challenge will be sticking to the food budget which is really food, toiletries, cleaning products, cat food, wine or beer. Will see how I go on though - it is all the fresh stuff which pushes the cost up! The budget at the moment only has the monthly spends and not what i need to put away for annual and quarterly bills - home insurance, car insurance, car tax, car mot, gas and electric.Think and hope that's everything!

A small amount of gardening has been done today so that is getting better as we learn where things will be better placed and work better with other things :)

I need to try a dress on which I think i'll be listing for sale and then there's just 2 dresses i need to fit in my wardrobe and we're tidy, if a little crammed.

Might try the dress on before we go for a walk then i may have something to list later today - and less to fit in my cupboard too ;)

i need to finish trying to sell the books as well as it got a bit disheartening the number they didn't want :(

Ok, dress, walk, declutter and tidy :T

Great work with the wardrobe sort out and the ebay sales!! Thank you for saying that my diary inspired you (I hope you meant mine and not another Jessy's! Lol!) that has really made my week!! I'm sure whatever target you decide to set you'll smash it!!! I've learnt alot from the lovely people on here and the main thing is not to overstretch yourself and enjoy life so you don't end up resenting what you are doing. As always I wish you the best of luck! x

I had a terrible nights sleep last night and have got a super busy day today *yawn*

Already been to Mr L for fruit and veg, garden centre for some bargainous plants :T and finished last of washing which i've yet to put away but now off to Mr M's.

Have parcels to post from weekend sales as I didn't manage to do yesterday as I had 2 interviews in different locations and I've been offered a job :j:j:j I start tomorrow  there is quite a bit of travelling but I'm hoping it won't be as bad as it seems and the job is part-time so hopefully that'll help with the travel too. i can only see and i can't wait to have a proper income again. It's less money than i was on before but it's more money than nothing so hopeful it will all go well.

Rightio best dash - further updates later ;)

Epic fail on the food shopping £64.49  i'm going to try and analyse this each week to see where i can make cutbacks.

    £2 plants - not a regular purchase

    £10 catfood
    £12.75 wine
    £20.39 fruit and veg
    £1.75 tinned veg
£6.14 meat - including a reduced joint and a reduced chicken which I've frozen for future meals
    £3.99 milk (i'm lactose intolerant)
The rest was just staples - really doesn't feel like there's much i could cut back on except the wine and my Mr pays towards the shopping anyway and it's nice (and cheaper) to sit at home with a glass of wine and a movie than to go out.

I've lots left to do this week including:

Planting herbs out and a bit of garden organisation
Listing rest of items on the bay of e
Sorting through wardrobe aka kondoing ;)
Finish emptying old work bag - i've found it very upsetting :(
    Try and sell books
Quality time for me and my Mr (further down the list as likely to be towards the end of the week)
Cut back on the glass of wine with our evening meal
Get back into the gym (been a bit of a hermit)
Finish budgeting as got new salary (am unsure of travel costs but this can of course be tweaked later)

Oh and also major :T Was helping my Mr look for new trainers and tried some on for me - so comfy :happyhear but didn't buy them as they aren't a *need* yet :T Also wasn't tempted with any of the clothes either:T:T

I know what I'm wearing to work tomorrow and I'm going to play it by ear for the rest of the week depending on days / dress code / see what everyone else is wearing :rotfl:

Thank you both - i did reply but seem to have lost the post :o

There seem to be some nice people that work there which is good.

The commute is a commute at the end of the day - i just have to accept it and get on with it.

There's an awful lot more responsibility in the role than i expected - hopefully this will mean a chance for a payrise somewhere down the line.

Planting herbs out and a bit of garden organisation Done but still have some more things in the garden to do - i've planned to do the next bit next week otherwise it is too much to do all at once
Listing rest of items on the bay of e 2 items still to do
Sorting through wardrobe aka kondoing :onope
Finish emptying old work bag - i've found it very upsetting nope
Try and sell books made a start
[STRIKE]Quality time for me and my Mr (further down the list as likely to be towards the end of the week)[/STRIKE] Done
[STRIKE]Cut back on the glass of wine with our evening meal[/STRIKE] Done but need to keep on it and cut back some more
Get back into the gym (been a bit of a hermit) nope
Finish budgeting as got new salary (am unsure of travel costs but this can of course be tweaked later)nope

Hmm not much achieved on the above and i feel like i've not stopped!

i cancelled the classes i booked at the gym last week as just too tired after starting new job and travelling - will be back this week though

I've done quite a bit in the garden and looking forward to getting all the heavy stuff finished next week hopefully.

This morning was taken up with visiting relatives and helping them with things which took me up to early afternoon. I was exhausted after being awake since before 4am and not being able get back sleep but thought i'd best get on with planting as soon as i got in otherwise it wouldn't be done. Planting done. then into house, all pots washed, dried and put away, 2nd lot of washing put on, first lot of washing put away. used up fruit and veg in 3 recipes so house smells divine, if i do say so myself :rotfl: and slow cooker still doing it's magic :) pots washed, dried and moved, 2nd lot of washing dried and moved. Bay of e items listed. Went to get in shower - no hot water  spent last 2.5 hours trying to fix the boiler :(

Was hoping do some studying and catch up with diaries but think i'm giving up any further repairs and having an early night instead. Hope everyone is well and i hope to catch up with you all soon :)
