I bet there are loads of activities you can all do much closer to home that won’t cost so much money and more importantly valuable holiday time!
Not sure I agree mate.
For instance flights and an Air BNB (fri, sat, sun, fly home mon) for budapest next june were coming in around £160pp. You'd struggle to get much in a UK city for that cost over a weekend. And I can't imagine it being as pricey to eat of drink abroad as it is in the UK in the areas we are discussing here...?{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -

Ha ha! I know what you mean as I own a house there. ;-)0 -
Albufeira is a safe bet.
When are you going?0 -
Krakow another vote from me. Wonderful city full of history & culture. Perfectly possible to have a 3 course meal with drinks for less than £15 a head too.0

Weirdly I was pondering both.
Also Budapest, anyone done that?
I had a long weekend in Budapest earlier this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. My trip was solo so I didn’t go out drinking to much of an extent but they have ‘ruin bars’ which sound pretty good. It’s small enough for pretty much everything to be within walking distance.0 -

Why does it even have to be a full weekend?
One activity, one meal, a few drinks.
This stuff has got stupidly overblown in recent years.0 -

Well that's your opinion.
However we are all middle aged professionals with comfortable finances so why not? And most importantly it's what the groom would like, he didn't get a stag do with his first marriage so who are we to stop him?{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -

The people paying! :rotfl:
Fair enough if everybody is genuinely happy with the plan, just one of my pet peeves that everyone’s supposed to be happy to pay several hundred quid and lose 3 or 4 days for these things nowadays.
Maybe i’m Just a grump!0
