  • This may be a total coincidence but a few days after I asked TSB on Twitter how I should contact them for a SAR, they actually sent a final response & a cheque (about 6 months after I submitted the complaint).

Put in a complaint, wait 6 months, maybe then you will get some compensation. ;)

Correct link (well, working for me) is https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2019/02/tsb-resolves-181-000-complaints-since-it-glitch/

Incorrect URL (linked in OP at time of posting): https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2019/february/tsb-resolves-181-000-complaints-since-it-glitch/

Looks like someone didn't adhere to the monthly naming convention when creating news stories, I think there was a similar issue on another news thread yesterday....
  • That explains why I've heard sweet FA from them regarding a recent complaint!
  • I recently could not access my account to pay credit card off, £26. I complained and was told to ring 0800 number. Explained by email that cannot access 0800 numbers from Australia.  They proceeded to charge £12 per month (3months) and have destroyed my credit rating. I have now paid it off, (£63). I clearly had the means to pay it off from 2 further TSB accounts. Advice anyone?

Nothing stopping you from complaining again but to be honest it sounds like you could/should have taken further actions to mitigate this - as with any other bank they publish non-0800 numbers for calling from abroad so not being able to call 0800 numbers isn't justification for abandoning attempts to make timely payment IMHO....

What was their answer when you asked for a non-0800 number? What happened when you called the number printed on the back of your TSB debit cards (+44 203 284 1575)?
