Hi,
I have an issue with my help to buy bonus, you can only receive the bonus if your buying a property £250,000 or under outside London. We are moving less than 15 miles from London, and the property is more than £250,000. Is there anyway that I could still receive my bonus from the government because buying in London gives you a £450,000 bracket.

If you are buying outside the below London boroughs then unfortunately the HTB ISA price cap is £250k.

Given UK property prices have been going down recently would the seller consider a lower offer?

Hi Alex,
The property is £295,000, house prices in Hertfordshire are high. You would be lucky to get a property for £250,000 or under.

In which case sadly a HTB ISA won't work for you. If you had realised earlier you could have started a Lifetime ISA however they need to be open at least 12 months for a penalty free withdrawal to buy a property worth up to £450k nationwide.0
