Solicitors letter ?
Dealer wanting rid of you ?
Intervention from ASA ?
I've just bought a car from a dealer - it too was showing outstanding finance. Dealer showed me their finance paperwork, I gave funds to dealer on collection, dealer cleared the finance, 24hrs later I received a clean HPI document.
