    It's a bit pathetic that PAYG users have to hand over money to get their compensation rather than just giving them say 10% of their last top-up but I'm sure they'll manage.

    Just to note, there's a post doing the rounds on Facebook saying that the compensation is £50 and to ring a London number to claim - didn't think that sounded right, so I googled the number - which turned out to be the Downing Street switchboard. Not sure whether to applaud or condemn whoever thought it up - feel for the poor switchboard operators, and anyone who truly thinks they're due £50, but at the same time ...
