I've got Charter Savings Bank Easy Access account issue 8, paying 1.31% (opened Nov 2017, no longer available for new accounts), so I won't be rushing to open this. Not impressed with Post Office Savings customer service.

Seems a bit sensationalist to have a breaking news story where one provider is paying 0.03% more than 4 other providers have been for a while.

Hard to get excited about 2% let alone 1.33%!

0.02% less than my Tesco account, and miserably more difficult to operate.

I can hardly contain my indifference.

But enough of the sarcasm, it is a market leader (currently), paying a whole 20-30p more per year per 1000 than some of the others currently available out there!

It will be interesting to see whether this sparks some of the others into offering a bit more over the coming weeks.

....all OK assuming you can actual get you money out when you want to.

Personally after my last experience with the Post office savings accounts (and their non existent "customer service"), I would never touch them with a barge pole even if they offered 5%....but that's just me

I tired of "modern life" a few years ago... all the comparisons, monitoring, switching - no wonder everybody's so "busy" these days.... it's all that keeping on top of and changing/switching various providers, checking, comparing....... IT SUCKS YOUR LIFE AWAY!

As regards this market leading rate from the Post Office, I am at a loss as to why MSE has highlighted such an underwhelming rate offer.

I think the headline needs to read 'Another savings account which can be funded by direct debit has been launched'. MSE is really out of touch with what its readers are after...
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
