I've got Charter Savings Bank Easy Access account issue 8, paying 1.31% (opened Nov 2017, no longer available for new accounts), so I won't be rushing to open this. Not impressed with Post Office Savings customer service.

Seems a bit sensationalist to have a breaking news story where one provider is paying 0.03% more than 4 other providers have been for a while.

Hard to get excited about 2% let alone 1.33%!

0.02% less than my Tesco account, and miserably more difficult to operate.

I can hardly contain my indifference.

But enough of the sarcasm, it is a market leader (currently), paying a whole 20-30p more per year per £1000 than some of the others currently available out there!

It will be interesting to see whether this sparks some of the others into offering a bit more over the coming weeks.

Personally after my last experience with the Post office savings accounts (and their non existent "customer service"), I would never touch them with a barge pole even if they offered 5%....but that's just me

With even CPI inflation running at above 2%, shouldn't that be losings account?

and me, after reading about the trouble people have on here trying to get their money back out from a Post Office account, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
